Discovering
God's Call
The quest for discovering
God's call for your life should be paramount. Nothing
is more important. There can be no doubt that a person's
earthly fulfillment and ultimate happiness greatly depend
on properly discerning God's will, especially in terms
of the particular vocation a man or woman may choose.
VocationSearch is
designed to help you discover more than 100 Catholic
religious communities with its unique searchable database.
Having trouble with a word?
Look it up in our new vocations glossary of
over 160 terms, the most extensive of its kind on the web.
What is an IRL Affiliate?
Institute on Religious Life (IRL) Affiliates are religious communities and other institutes of consecrated life which have agreed to collaborate with the IRL in carrying out its mission and purpose. Affiliates are subjected to a thorough evaluation by the IRL board to ensure they meet criteria of orthodoxy and viability.

What is VocationSearch?
IRL's VocationSearch (formerly
called WebFact) program enables visitors to find information
on more than two hundred selected Catholic religious/consecrated
communities throughout the United States and beyond.
Using one of the most advanced searchable databases for
Catholic communities on the Web, VocationSearch reveals
information on communities' charisms, apostolates, prayer
life and formation programs.
Three searches — keyword,
advanced, and Affilates, include IRL-Affiliated communities.
A fourth search, Women's by location, and Men's by location,
includes not only IRL Affiliates but also selected non-Affiliate
communities. The non-Affiliate list includes only contact
information. The Affiliate list contains a profile of
the community.
Why
the Name Change?
The IRL found that the name
VocationSearch, rather than WebFact, more correctly
conveyed the meaning of a vocational aid which displays
information on selected religious communities. All the
information is the same.
